What are some good alternatives to Nora Roberts?

My wife has read every Nora Roberts and J.D. Robb book out there and she's looking for a new author to take her place. Is there anyone who writes similar (characters, story, style)?|||Linda Howard %26amp; Sandra Brown are good.

Danielle Steele is good, but you'll need a box of tissues next to you for her books.|||Try the Barnes %26amp; Noble website. Look up Nora Roberts and look at the side columns, there is an option for 'more books by same author' and 'similar books'. You should come up with something your wife would like.

Personally I like the Janet Evanovich series of Stephanie Plum (Stephanie is a bounty hunter who doesn't quite have it down); Joanne Fluke series of Hannah Swenson (Hannah is a baker who stumbles across murder victims %26amp; solves the crimes--the added bonus is whenever a particular cookie is mentioned for Hannah's bakery shop, the recipe is provided); Karen Marie Moning writes Scottish highlander stories; Faye Kellerman writes some good stuff.|||Katie MacAllister
