Do I have to read Blue Dahlia by Nora Roberts to understand the In the Garden Trilogy?

I requested these books from the library but I was unable to get the first one on time but I have the other two books. I'm unsure whether I should just go ahead and read and then later read the first or if I should not read them at all? Has anyone read this series that can let me know.|||Definately need to read the first one first... Nora's trilogies are very tightly connected and are like building blocks.|||i haven't read all but i read more than a few n they're awesome
